The workshop is where that system becomes conscious reconstruction. Nothing is sent back to factory condition. What was inherited is examined, worked, marked and deliberately remade.

The workshop metaphor is the clearest expression of conscious reconstruction.

Repair is often imagined as a return: straighten the panel, hide the damage, restore the original finish. But a human life has no untouched factory version waiting underneath.

In CUSTOM MADE, the work is not to become who Matthew was before. The work is to use memory, damage, desire, craft and choice to create somebody authored. The marks are not failures in the finish. They are evidence of the making.

STORY

STORY gives the signal context. It connects the work to memory, identity and lived experience—then leaves enough room for the listener to recognise something of their own.

CUSTOM MADE is Matthew stepping out from behind the mythology and into his own name, image and voice. The work does not restore some untouched original. It keeps the seams, choices and history visible—then authors a self that did not exist before.
